jdollarbuffalo and if there are any left over "own use" elephant permits, that too. in fact it may become a left over quota clean up, but that remains to be seen.

jdollarwell, sitting in the Admirals Club at DFW with a nice adult beveridge. the short hop( 3 hours)is done, now the long hauls begin. I figure by the time I pitch up in the Caprivi I will have been traveling about 52 hours including layovers. is it worth it? HELL, YES!!!

Best of luck and say hello to Karl from me - and tell him I am still awaiting the measurements for my Roan and Beau's Elephant.

these days you'd nearly be better off looking at LA-Sydney-J'Bourg fly over the Pacific rather than through Dallas and London.
Good luck - soounds like FUN!!

Matt GrahamLAX>SYD>JBG 32 hours on Qantas, including layover in Sydney. That is the long flight too (into the wind). Coming back is 3-4 hours quicker I think

I actually looked into that route but using ff miles and refusing to fly coach limits my options

Yeah I suspected so. Anyhow - I posted it here as much for the future benefit of others on the US west coast, traveling to southern Africa. May not say much in actual time in the air but might save a plane change?
Anyhow - have a big time over there!

416TanzanHave a great flight and hunt.
You chose the best route, it's only 10-11 time zones going "eastbound and down."
meanwhile I fly westbound and hope to get up above your area next week for a couple days looking for deer in the Sierras. I think you'll have better views of game! SAvor every glimpse and smell.
