Found a sable, and he took off.

We followed him for quite a while, but never saw him again in very thick bush.

Decided to leave him and go look for something else.

Saw a herd of elephants, and went up to take some videos of them.

Got some nice footage of 2 young bulls, a few cows and some babies

Found a herd of buffalo feeding, and the wind was not as good as we wished.

So a fast run to get a bit of an advantage, running up and down for quite a while.

Managed to get ahead of them, and Roy shot an old bull.

We stayed with him, while the trackers went to see how to get the truck to us.

We were almost eaten alive by mopane bees!

These bloody things are 100 times worse than tse tse flies.

There was not much shade where we were, so each of us went off to find whatever shade we could find.

By 3 the truck arrived.

I used my own concoction of DEET and sun protection, and it worked like a charm in keeping those pwsky bees away.

Saeed,

The last two tranches of photos are particularly brilliant. Thank you for sharing.

This is the world famous BUFFALO BEANS!

It is absolutely, positively, the worst thing that can happen to you while hunting.

It has some sort of very fine hairs, and if they touch you, you are for a most uncomfortable time.

Etching non stop.

Avoid at any cost.

Saeed- Wondering what the Hamerkop was feeding on. Looks like a fantastic water situation this year. So many incredible riparian areas from the drone.

Fantastic photos as always Saeed. I'm really enjoying your report.

Had lots of fun with a herd of buffalo this morning.

The lot were in a swamp, where one can hardly see 5 feet ahead of him in very thick bush, and mud that sucks your boots off your feet.

They ran across and we had to bunch together under a tree to avoid being run over.

Eventually they got tired of the swamp, and came out going down wind.

So we gave up the chase and went back to camp for lunch.

In the afternoon we found three bulls, and Roy shot one.

Maktoum also shot a buffalo today.

Water is much less this year than it was last year.

Love your group’s success on buff, Saeed.

Great work as long as one can get it! Big Grin

But that’s a hell of a tick removal technique.

Literally!

How did it work?

I guess the buff is past caring in any case whether he’s bitten or burned. Eeker

I hate those damned ticks.

I've often encountered the dreaded scrotum tick but haven't yet been tempted to apply a match to the pubic hairs as a means of removal. However desperate times often demand desperate measures!

It’s interesting to see Alan’s new technique for tick elimination. I thought making a flamethrower with Doom was pretty cool, so I’m wondering if there was an accident along the way, or is he simply out of doom.

BBQ’ed buffalo balls! It’s not what’s for dinner!

We are using two low light Sony cameras.

A7sIII and FX3.

Fantastic results.

Roy shot a kongoni, and I shot an old sable.

Back early for an expected BBQ.

Very cloudy this morning.

Saw a herd of buffalo, and followed them for about 10 kilometers and gave up.

Bush too thick, one can only see parts of the animsl, and impossible to pick a suitable bull.

An hour later we came across another herd.

The wind was right, and we got into an hour quick jog to get ahead of them.

The trick worked, as they fed towards, and I shot one.

We had a laugh, as Alan placed the shooting stick close to a tree, and for me to get into postion to where the buffalo were coming, I had to squeeze between the tree and the sticks.

Got pushed back against the tree, to everyone's amusement.

We were quite far, and managed to get to camp by three.

No lunch.

Maktoum shot a buffalo.

We are at camp early for a change.

As I mentioned above, we missed our packed lunch and came too late for the camp lunch.

No matter, we are looking forward to buffalo stew for dinner.

This is the funniest leopard hunt any of us has ever had.

We had a bait on a tree in a dry river bed.

There was no blind, but a walk in grass wall about 12 feet wide, placed 25 yards from the bait.

We had a zebra leg for bait, which was eaten, and we went there to replinish it.

We stopped the truck a few hundred yards away, and walked to it.

When we got to about 50 yards from the open blind, we heard the leopard growling in the grass.

We called the truck to come.

We heard some noise across the bait, and there were 3 buffalo bulls!!

Two old dugga boys and one younger bull.

The truck arrived, and we put a new bait up.

The boys were trying to make a better setup of the open blind, when the leopard comes and climbs up to the bait!

In full view of the crew working.

They called us, as we were a few yards away by the truck.

We decided not to fix the blind, but send the car away and we wait.

Ten minutes later, he appeares on the bait, looking straight at us.

A NO MISS bullet went on its way, he fell off the tree, ran a few yards and another KABOOBI KABOOKI!

We are still trying to work out our luck this year.

We have spent years sitting in blinds mornings and evenings, without showing anything for it.

This year, two lions and one leopard without wasting one minute in a blind!

Non of us here mind this at all.

OMG Saeed and how many days left?

You need to drive the park boundary, surely an 80 pounder will walk out!

Saeed, have the pigs not dropped their babies yet? I remember last year they all seemed to give birth in a short window and you had no baits hit for about a week after. This year, the cats seem to have been dramatically more active on bait, both lions and leopard.

These must be some of your best photos yet on this safari Saeed. The scenic shots are just beautiful. Do you know the name of that white winged moth ? Has to be the most stunningly beautiful insect I've ever seen.
