Alan BunnEducation fund for the children of Andre de Kock
I just received this message from my friend, Michael Angelides, and thought many of you would be interested in helping his surviving children any way that you could.
I have highlighted pertinent information and contact details. I did not receive the donation card mentioned, but anyone wishing to use a credit card should contact the Conservation Fund at the address below.

After the tragic untimely death of our member, colleague and friend Andre de Kock the Robin Hurt Foundation together with Conservation Foundation have set up a fund for the continued education of Andre and Lesley two children, Mathew and Kelly, this is an estimated cost of +US$80,000
I know Andre worked very hard to give his children the best education they could get, and I know without question Lesley will continue to do so. But I see no reason why the de Kock family should endure any further heartache, and I know as a community, we can all come together and show Mathew and Kelly how much Andre meant to us all, and that even in spirit, though us he is still going to provide the best for them.
Conservation Foundation 501(c)(3) public charity and all donations are tax deductible. There are several ways you can make a donation:
By Mail:
Conservation Force, P.O. Box 278, Metairie, LA 70004-0278by Credit Card: Please fill in the attached donation card.
Online:
http://www.conservationforce.org/donateonline.html - select de Kock Family Fund from the contribution type.
Lastly, Particularly for those of you in Africa. Because of the high transfer fees you may give the donation to me in Arusha, (Please contact me re: Dar es Salaam) I will give you a receipt and bank and account for all the donations and send them all from the TPHA account to Conservation force in one lump sum, on or about June 20th
When giving your donation please give you full name, contact details, address and email. All the names will be given to conservation force who will acknowledge your individual donation (required by law).
I am working to make this the same in different countries across Africa! Please contact me for info on your country.

Balla BallaThere appears to be a movement on the Africa forum to more and more (donation requests) coming in.
In light of this development WOULD it be pertinient for the creators/site owners to (CONSIDER/CREATE) a totally separate AFRICA DONATION FORUM for assistance requests !!
Cheers, Peter

Alan BunnPeter,
This is a movement initiated by the Tanzanian Professional Hunters Association, with the aid and support of the Conservation Force here in the States.
I received the message about these efforts and posted here to inform the forum members. I was not aware that this forum has been overrun with requests for assistance from Africa.
However, if such a problem does indeed exist, then perhaps these messages should be banned entirely.
Cheers,
~ Alan

Alan BunnConservation Force has not yet got the link up on their site for direct credit card contributions. I would think they should have it up and running sometime on Monday.
However, the hard copy form may be printed out and mailed in, for anyone who would prefer to use that method.

Not that the forum is overun with money requests ..
Just thought we could FOCUS more on the requests if they were on a totally separte forum created specifically for these requests as that way they might generate more interest and consequently MORE donations forthcoming
Also PAYPAL is a VERY good option to also consider for payment donations as then people wanting to send small amounts are not hindered by bank fees and the likes.

Alan BunnPeter,
A better way to focus on the requests you are interested in is to keep commenting on them. Therefore, bringing them back to the top of the list, where people who missed them the first time hopefully have a chance to read them, and perhaps, also comment.
PayPal is a good thing to use and charges very low fees compared to the banks, however it does require some setup, and also a credit card. Credit cards are impossible to get in Third World countries, unless you have an account overseas. However, if you can get it going it is easier and cheaper than the banks. I know a few years ago, it cost $40 to transfer funds from the US to South Africa for any amount of money. It may be more now.
The problem with creating a new forum, is that this web site has too many forums already. The only thing a new forum would accomplish is to make sure that no one would ever see this message.
There has been a lot of lip service about how outrageous Andre de Kock's murder was, but a request to help his children has only garnered 141 looks so far, and then goes off the front page with barely a murmur.
I should have done a better job writing the headline so it would have attracted more attention, but I thought the simple facts would have sufficed.
