Dangerous Game Redux
Watching the "other" lion hunt one again, where the beauty queen shoots the lioness. What is up with her rifle? The scope is mounted so high that she has a chin weld and not a cheek weld. Eeker

Anyone know who the PH is or what company he works for? Was the hunt in South Africa?

It looked like South Africa to me. Everyone involved (other than the client) had a South African accent.

From the show's description: "Former Miss Nebraska Olivia Angelloz smiles at the threat of danger. She heads off to Africa to hunt one of the fiercest animals - a lioness. It's then off to stalk a fierce rhino in order to tranquilize it for conservation related specimen collecting."

Since they don't specify which country she 'hunted' in, you can draw an inference that it was RSA.
Combined with the Steve Farris episode (where the PH shoots his leopard for him because he couldn't sit in the blind), I think I'll miss the rest of the season.

I have kept last season's episodes (or at least most of them) on the DVR but this season's "celebrity shows" have not all held up. I may end up deleting them.

I watched the show last night and I believe this was the safari outfitter mentioned at the end.

Thanks -- I had forgotten that from the first airing -- I guess I did not pay enough attention to the show last night.

So they hunt the Eastern Cape on 30,000 acres.

the company was defininitely Tam Safaris, located in RSA.what i am wondering is if the lioness was a free ranging animal or one that lived all its life there. judging from the looks of the male with her, i would guess it was an animal that was raised there and was used to having hunters around.

I am not a veteran of any African adventures, although, I do have asperations of hunting there someday. That being said, I believe this year's "Dangerous Game" series SUCKS. I may be wrong, but darting a Rhino because you have enough money to do so is just wrong. I have no problem with killing an animal, but darting it just to put it down seems unfair to a wild animal.
Just my opinion.
Thanks, Doug

On my first Safari to RSA we were driving along when I looked over and a Rhino was running along beside me. I was ask if I would like to dart one and I said no not realizing I could not afford it anyway. They told me the last time a Rhino (or this Rhino) was darted it was not as out as they thought and it broke the back of the Vet who was taking blood samples.

Tam Safaris -they have 30,00 ac. about two hours north of Port Elizabeth. Lion/lioness-they tell me they have the only certified free roaming lions in RSA and they are released 6 months prior to being hunted. I will be talking to them at DSC about that hunt. Rhino -What is wrong with darting ? Same hunt as killing one plus it gives the vet a change to check the animal over for any medical problems. Darting runs around $6500 as opposed to $35,000 plus the animal continues to live. I did it and you must get closer with the dart gun. Pretty exciting.

its hard for me to believe that they are going to turn lions loose on the property and let them kill valuable plains game for 6 months before they are hunted. a few lions will kill and eat a lot of prey in 6 months
