ledvmA bit dramatic in the cinematography.
Also having a hard time understanding a why a healthy looking kudu went and laid down to wait to be speared.
His San ancestors would have scolded him for wasting that water on his head.

Michael RobinsonHumans had endurance and stone blades before rifles.
Rifles are far better weapons than endurance and stone blades.

RatwhiskersA simple case of the hunter's stamina and determination overcoming the Prey's ability to escape the inevitable.
l once witnessed a really cranky gelding who wouldn't have his feet touched, taken into an arena with a soft surface and lunged until his nose hit the ground. He allowed two feet to be done until he gained back some strength, then it was game on again until the second dose had him lay down in exhaustion and submit. He never offered to be a problem with his feet after that.

The camera crew had plenty to replace the wasted water.

CharlesLMaybe when I was 18, weighed 125 lbs, and had good knees. In my teens I would take a rope halter and chase my father's Appaloosa stallion until he gave up and let me ride him.
