hamdeniFederal 250 Grains TBBC in 375H&H
Guys,
My younger brother has just bought some Federal bullets in 250 grains TBBC. He would like to know weither these bullets would be ok for Cape Buffalo. Thanks in advance.

250 grains are on the light side for buffalo. Use them on plains game and get some 300 gr. for buff.

N E 450 No2While they would probably kill a buff on a broad side shot I too would recommend using 300 gr bullets, softs and solids.
I like the Federal 250 grain load for everything in the Lower 48.
It is about a 3 quarter load. Shoots good.

bulldog563Hunts are too expensive to risk on marginal bullets... Get some premium 300gr bullets for buff.

HughiamI took the TBBC on a plainsgame hunt in 02. I shot eland, zebra, wildebeest, kudu and waterbuck. I didnt get any exit wounds on any of them and recovered all the slugs. Complete mushrooms, but I would have liked to see an exit wound. The eland I took was about 1,600lbs, smaller than a buff, so I'd opt for the heavier rounds.
