- Where?
- How? platform boat? Mokoro? poling between islands, climbing trees/mounds to scout etc, or perhaps purely by chance?
-Distance of shot?

I was fortunate enough to take a very nice one at Bangweulu in Zambia. We erected a metal scaffolding some distance out in the swamp. The sititunga we shot actually showed up way beyond rifle range so we got down and stalked him to about 100 yards. This was possible because of the drying swamp in September. Earlier we would have hunted from termite mounds that form islands in the swamp. Sadly the poaching has descimated the sitatunga at Bangweulu but other areas such as Tondwa still hold good populations.

I took a sitatunga with Johnny DuPlooy in the Bangweulu Swamps. Hunting from a machon after wading through the swamp before daylight. The shot was somewhere around 300 yards. The article was published in SAFARI Magazine a couple of years ago. At that time the Bangweulu swamp also offered black lechwe, tsessabe, and oribi.
