LHowellHey, at Least Sullivan Gives the Buff a Choice

You guys should really come on down to the political forum once in a while, you're much too polite up here!
Fine, take this whole string "down" to the political forums where it belongs.

RopesUntil I recently my exwife has been the executor of my living will - it has a do not resusitate clause and does not allow me to be supported by any machines for any length of time.
The funny thing is when I was 37 I had a heart attack when the hospital ask who was the executor of my DNR they told me they would not honor it because she was my ex.
I did, do and will always trust my life with her we just could not live together in peace but remain friends today.

3. Her insurance long ago maxed out, so those millions are taxpayer dollars.
4. Those dollars could be put to better use, or left in the taxpayers' pockets.
Therefore...
Whether her husband is a rat or not doesn't matter at all to me.
We shall see when it becomes you turn.
If I am brain dead, then I hope they off me in a hurry rather than waiting 15 years. And yes, I would do the same for you.

My wife and I have discussed this topic several times, and both of us would rather have "the plug pulled" than continue to exist in such a condition as this Terri woman did for so long. Both for the sake of the one in a coma, and for the one left behind. JMHO.

farktoofHere's what I don't understand. The people that supported her husband say - she's in a vegetative state, a vegetable, furniture if you will and therefore the plug should be pulled.Explain to me how a piece of furniture "feels" anything, any emotions. How does that help her if she's by all your accounts not even there anymore?
Point is it is not really about her wishes as she's not there anymore. Is it for her husband's sake then?
Her family on the other hand would have found comfort and whatever in her staying alive and holding on to hope.
I always find it interesting, funny and these days kind of sad how the more liberal people think. They are always saying they are for the disadvantaged, the weaker etc. of soceity but at the end of the day I don't see it.
I saw the ACLU as a nutty, way-out-there organization, but the truth is that alot of people think the way they do and support the way they act.Like Dennis Miller said - they will fight against the display of a manger scene during Xmas on public prop, but will fight for the right of some deviant fucking the sheep in that same setup.

T.CarrA very tragic example of why everyone needs a Directive to Physicians (also known as a Living Will). Along with a Last Will & Testament and a Durable Power of Attorney.
Regards,
Terry
I wonder how much difference there is between Mark's videos and this case. Both seem absurd to me:
1) If Terri's parents were willing to take over her care, why the rush to kill her?
2) If nothing else comes of this, hopefully Congress will have the backbone to rein in the courts. The present court and judge system is out of control, in my opinion. There is even an ad playing on KC television now exclaiming how wonderful the courts are....the Missouri bar can see the potential fallout from this killing.
3) Maybe some of these judges will wind up the way Sullivan might one of these days...impaled upon horns of their own arrogance.
