BIG SAMMy new 404 Jefferys
Ray,
Nice rifle. I'm putting my .375 in a brown laminate also.
In reference to your rings and bases.
What rings are you using?
Are they on an added on base or clamped to the receiver ala CZ style?
Thanks,
Sam

fredj338Well done Ray, the checkering is very interesting.

AtkinsonIt has the original trigger and safty...I gave that a lot of thought and the safety is a good one and blocks the sear and its actually handier than the M-70 3-pos. that I am used to, so I stayed with CZ...I may yet have a Talley bolt tigged on it, but for now its ready to go do what it does best....
As to checkering, I will checker it the same as the above checkering on the other pictured rifle, its different, grips like glue....but I will have to wait until my return for that..both guns are laminate BTW, the checkered one is a Mel Smart laminate, one of his last..
Rip,
Im with you on the ghost ring peep, its the way to go and as I age I am leaning towards the ghost ring over the shallow V...Mine has a big hole to look through and all I do is stick the post front sight on the target and give thd trigger the infamous controlled yank, jerk or flinch, whichever adverb or adjective you prefer for trigger pull.

<DR458>Has good walnut gotten into short supply?

13 July 2004, 07:12
AtkinsonDr.458,
So you have changed your name from ASS CLOWN....I will be making a Turkish walnut stock for the gun as a winter project, if you would read before you speak, then you would know that..Your style gives you away.
Big Sam,
I have a Brockman pop up Ghost peep, that he makes from modified Talley QDs..works great, has full adjustments and pops up when scope is removed and pushes down on reinstallation of the scope....I use it in coordination with a New England Custom Guns gold face partridge of .700 height (the tallest one) and set the peep adjustments in the center of adjustment, then file the top of the partridge to zero at 2" high at 100..That way I have adjustment both up and down for changing loads or changing POI etc...It works really well...
