Peglegcover or no cover
I'm leaving for Zimbabwe at the end of the week and am taking my rifles in the beefed up aluminum gun case from Cabela's. I have a canvas type cover for the case and was just wondering if it is worth the effort of using the cover?
Opinions appreciated!

Michael RobinsonI always use one, although one of mine was ruined on my last trip.
Where did you get the one you are using?

PSmithI used the Cabela's gun cases on both my trips to Zim. I did not have covers and the cases look like they got dragged down the runway. Not sure the covers would have done much to protect them.
The rifles were just fine. I know guys who took their rifles in the cheapo plastic cases and their rifles were just fine also, but I wouldn't take the chance.

PeglegMR- I've got the Cabela's gun case cover. Green with reinforced corners. Kinda makes it look like a guitar case.

That's the one I had. After several trips, the baggage mishandlers finally managed to crush the zipper on it. It wouldn't work anymore and I threw it out.
I asked what you were using because I need to find a replacement!
