joestertuskless question...
In order to avoid hijacking the thread about hides/ what to do with them, I'll ask this separately...Are there any countries that allow immport of tuskless hides/ ears?

GunsCoreYes, but I think it would be more important to know what country allows the export first. The only country that I am aware of that specifically gives permits to hunt tuskless elephants is Zimbabwe. Some of these hunts will allow the export of skins and some will not. I have done both, but I don't know why some are and some aren't. It would best to request a exportable tuskless hunt on this forum and see what kind of response you get from various Zim PHs.

MuvhimiIf tuskless are on quota then you can export from Zim with CITES hide tags for each item. Bulls have a single CITES tag for the whole animal. The best thing is to have the hide tanned and made into bags etc.

tim416I also believe the rules may vary depending on where the hunt took place. Just two weeks ago we finished a tusk less hunt in Matetsi Unit 1. The hide is exportable from this area. I was told by another PH that was in camp that this is not the case in the communal or CAMPFIRE areas, I forget which or if it was both. Perhaps someone else can elaborate further.

MuvhimiIf the animal( Tuskless) is on a National Parks approved quota in any area in Zimbabwe - then it is exportable as per my previous post. If its on a ration hunt then non exportable.
