A Great Kudu Bull
Robert Johnson said in another discussion that this year would be good for kudu in Namibia.
He was 100% correct. Take a look at this baby from one of my outfitters in Namibia. They did a quick measurement of the length in the field and it was 58"!
The rains have been very good this year.
Still have some openings at great rates. Hunt the same area where this bull was killed this July or August for $1000 off the outfitters retail price.

ForrestBHow much can rainfall in a given year impact trophy quality for that year? I can see how it would impact antler growth, but for horns can it really be that much? It seems like it would impact younger kudu more than older kudu. By the time a kudu reaches trophy proportion his horn growth has slowed pretty dramatically I think. Just curious.

I do not believe that heavy rain increase horn length, body size yes, but not horn length.

Would have been so much nicer in a few years' time when his horn tips started pointing outwards and the ivory grown a bit longer and bluter for old age!

bwanamrmNice bull! While this bull defintely has the right genetics, great rainfall and lush forage probably did not hurt! Except to locate him in all of that thick bush.
