My son Mason took his first trophy buck this morning, the opener for Texas deer season. He took this buck with a Remington .223 I had customized for him with one shot at about fifty yards. It was a great opening morning, cool and the deer were moving. We saw four bucks this morning and six does. We were hunting in Karnes county. Needless to say, I don't know who was more excited, Mason or me!

Congratulations! It's a good idea to get them started early with hunting and an outdoor lifestyle. It's a far better "hobby" than sitting on the couch watching TV, or wandering around malls... I plan to do the same with our daughter.
