BlacktailerTanzania Trophy fees for 2007
Just recieved an email from my outfitter for additional trophy fees needed before my trophies can ship. Here is what they sent me re the new fee schedule.
Buffalo $1095.00
Buffalo 1450.00
Wildebeest 575.00
Impala 425.00
Waterbuck 750.00
Warthog 565.00
Bushbuck 575.00
Zebra 920.00
I don't have any more info than this and it only covers the animals I took so I don't know what the resolution was on the cats or elephant or any other animals but I imagine we will all hear soon. In the meantime, I need to wire $1145.00 to Tanzania to get my trophies shipped.

jdollarnot doubled but still up about 25%. nothing like a little retroactive cost increases to keep people coming back for more.

So these are the new fee's or is that the amount in addition to what you have already paid? You state at you owe them 1145 so is it same to assume all the animals went up about $200 or are you saying all you want to bring home is one buffalo?
Sad deal and one that will cause a lot of people problems.

We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase and fined if we don't, Which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke!!!!! 'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

wrenchmasterKeeping in mind all that has transpired over this issue and the agreements that were broken, would anyone in their right mind hunt in Tanzania again? It certainly won't be me; one hosing is enough.

The increase for all of the animals I took was $845 plus an extra $300 increase on the hunting permit. Note that these are the fees that my outfitter is charging and may differ slightly from what the actual govt. fees are.
The fee change was
1st buff up $145
2nd buff up $200
Wildebeest up $75
Impala up $55
Waterbuck up $100
Warthog up $75
Bushbuck up $75
Zebra up $120

JBoutfishnSorry I did not understand your first post. All in all this does not seem to bad except for the fact it is retroactive

Just received a email from SCI, it indicates an increase of 15% for trophy fees and an increase of 50% for block fees.

GeorgeSTell them to keep the trophies. This is like a restaurant billing me weeks after the fact because the price of meat went up since I ate there.

Trust me; the money you save on these fees, shipping, and taxidermy will put you well on the way to your next safari.

Bwana BundukiSorry, I didn't understand your first post either. In reality by the time you factor in shipping, and taxidermy, it will be overall a very small percentage. It ain't that bad.

jdollarbear in mind though that those are fees for 2007 and the 2008 fees will be higher still(as well as daily rates taking another jump). if you sh-t on the golden goose long enough, IT WILL STOP LAYING EGGS!!!
