I got an email from my taxidermist in Zim today stating that the USFW is having a meeting to discuss lion imports..Anyone hear of this?

Decision by USFWS is supposed to be out by June 14.

Don't count on June 14th. Rumors now indicate nothing before mid-July, and I'm not convinced we'll know anything even then.

IMO, the flap over the Ele ban has caused the idiots at USF&W to postpone anything on the Lion at the present time. I also believe they want to ban Lion and instead of publishing a statement that they will not be making a decision this year, they want to keep us all guessing and hope we will not be hunting Lion this season.

Beau has a Lion on quota (and I have my next Elephant) for Zim in September. After waiting for the Lion decision and suffering through the delays to date, we have decided to proceed as if there will be no change on Lion and adapt accordingly. I plan to shoot an Ele regardless and am one of the "42" named in the SCI lawsuit against the USF&W Zim Ele ban.

Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.
