CunninghamWhen I saw the Topic title this morning of this discussion I had to laugh about the title.
My mom and I do not and have never seen eye to eye on the issue of hunting. She is "it's some sort of macho trip blood lust thing". I have always enjoyed the chase and adventure and I toast her after ever kill and wish her the best. Now for the mommy, mommy thing. A few years back my mom bought me a John Banovich print of a charging Elephant. It is huge, some 4' by 4'. I am in the process of having it framed for my trophy room. She told me that since she had bought me a print of such a magnificent animal that I could never shoot one.
Well I did not responded to her statement. What I did do was go right out and call the Banovich studio and found out what the item cost. I have gone and had a Cashiers check drawn for that amount and on the day I leave for my Elephant hunt in a couple of years I am going to post it to her before I board the plane for Africa. She will know and boy will she be mad.
But finally, Will shoot straight and true.

JudgeGI use my Banovich elephant pic to practice head-on brain shots (using snap caps, of course). Good practice in the living room. When your mom comes to see you, show her your technique! I'm sure she'll see the practicality of her purchase.

yukon deltaThanks for the Banovich info. He has some nice prints that I am considering for my office/library. Very classy but I certainly can't afford his originals!

Banovich does some nice work, but they could not be bothered to talk to my wife or me at their display at DSC this year, so I doubt I will be buying any of his work. Too bad, really, as it was my wife that was interested in the piece.
Oh well, my office is getting pretty full as it is.

bwanamrmGood luck and good hunting Bill!
On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!
