Do You REALLY Want Walter To Post Our LIVE Hunt Report?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

It seems there are a number of people here who are still totally ignorant of Walter.

I have received some PMs asking why does Walter not do our Live Hunt Report from the camp.

For starters, Walter has at least half a dozen cameras, but, last year he has taken a grand total of 182 photos!!?

Second, Walters daily report will look something like:

Day 1.

Saeed shot a buffalo.

Day 2.

Saeed shot a pig.

Day 3.

Saeed shot an impala for me to cook.

Day 4.

Saeed and Roy were chased up a tree by baboons. Alan ran away laughing!

Day 5.

I am still in my tent. I don't know what they had shot. Monkeys throwing stones on my tent. Or may be it is Saeed.

And so on.

Seems like it would be pretty accurate and probably colorful reporting ..

Walter is -
An ageless dwarf of German descent placed on this earth to entertain and confuse Saeed and everyone who hunts Africa. If you have seen the movie "Inspector Gadget" - this is a life story of Walter. Better yet, he is Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther movies. He is very gifted at creating situations that so unprobable that many on AR shake our collective heads at his cunning methods.

If Walter is good at anything, he is very good at setting triggers.

He has a long wooden bench in his workshop that is mounted against the whole wall on one side of his workshop.

He has all sorts of vices and tools installed on that bench.

One of the vices was installed near a corner - if you stand working on something mounted in that vice, you will be facing one end of the wall, while the other is to your left.

I am explaining this so you all get the right mental picture. It als helps to amplify the sound of a rifle going off

Walter had a 308 rifle in the vice, upside down, and he was adjusting the trigger.

The rifle was facing to our left, to teh side wall.

He kept cocking the bolt, adjust the trigger screws a bit, and pull the trigger.

The phone rang in his office next door.

It must have been a rather quiet day that one, so I thought of bringing some excitement into it.

I took a 308 round, and put it in the chamber of that rifle......and waited.

Walter came back, did some more screw adjustment - by now I am standing by the door, with fingers in my ears, waiting patiently for the rifle to go off!

Walter pulls the trigger!

The rifle flies out of the vice!

Walter was screaming all sorts of obscenities in some foreign language I could not comprehend.

He walks out of the wortkshop, gets into his car and drove away.

We did not see or hear from him for 3 days!

Oh yes, "The Hole in the Wall Gang" that ganged up on Walter: I do recall reading that over a decade ago. Still shocking!!!

Yep, that looks familiar.

Many things here have reminded me of Gary Larson's "The Far Side" cartoons!

I recall that he also has 4 GPS units, and still doesn't know where he is.

Buy a donkey! You obviously are a gifted art critic.

I understand Walter well in his "Court Jester" role.
It is the "Royal Gunsmith" part I don't understand, unless it is from a "retired" position.

I figure Walter taught Saeed the basics of running a lathe and mill and hand tools, back when he was still capable of it,
fresh out of apprenticeship training with a big name maker in Germany.

Now Saeed must do all his gunsmithing for himself, and allows Walter, friend near close as family, to amuse everybody, sort of like the "Court Jester"
accommodated out of basic, humane, pet-like treatment.
Like a crazy uncle.
