Topics from the past...

GMaxsonTopics from the past...
Has anyone noticed that on AR there seem to be topics that are "hot" and are posted on constantly for a year or so and then you never hear boo about them anymore? How could such topics get sooo much play and then drop off the face of the earth? I have a feeling I know why Talley and the 404 topics fell off.
Examples:
Talley QD Mounts - Talley was the savior of the world for quite a while with constant posts on them.
MRC PH Actions - Ton's of posts on how great the action was going to be, status of said action etc... Seemed like at least one topic a day.
404's - For a while it seemed like everyone and their brother were looking into building a 404.
Which have I missed?

analog_peninsulaWell, I'm in the process of building a .404J on a MRC PH action, and I'll use Talley QD mounts on the rifle.

Just kidding, actually, it's a M70 Stainless Classic.

LandrumNot necessarily on this board (because I wasn't here at that time) but on others was the topic of the Browning A Bolt. It was either loved or despised. Descriptive terms like "over engineered" and "too many parts" and "pot metal" were batted around day after day after day after......

Don't even go there... There was a Carmelo sighting recently on AR and you know what that will bring on all of us...

GMaxsonThe CRF vs Push Feed topic has not had as much play as of late either.
I think certain individuals added life to each of the mentioned topics and with their absense such topics lose steam quickly and are not as prone to start similar threads.
It seems the more passionate about a topic someone is the more others want to start threads either jumping on the bandwagon or threads trying to instigate a response from that person.

LandrumRemember the classic that had everyone running to their safes to see if their rifles would feed upside down? This was, of course, an off shoot of the CRF vs. PF debate. Many, however, were scorned by the reports that, "Hey, my Model 700 feeds upside down too!"
Oh the memories.

RayRayMakes you wonder if some of the newest saviors will end in a future "topics of the past" like North Fork?

Michael RobinsonHaving two .416s, the .404 never tempted me . . . MUCH, that is . . . to be continued . . .
Now, let's see, a .333, a .404 and a nice, vintage .500 . . . where oh where have you been all my life . . .
