What magazines focus on Hunting Africa?
Is there such a thing, I used to get Hatari, but Harold quit doing that quite a few years ago.

lavacaAn obvious answer is "African Hunter" edited by our own Ant Williams. I can say from long experience, it is an excellent magazine.
"Sports Afield" has improved and covers quite a bit of African hunting.

Gayne C. YoungTexas Sporting Journal is the Worldwide Outdoors Magazine of Texas and covers Africa...and I'm the Editor!

bwana cecilAfrican Hunter is GREAT! Cal Pappas writes for them.
African Hunting Gazette
African Outfitter (although I think they are too expensive)
Of course our DSC magazine, Game Trails
Sports Afield is top notch

cal pappasAll are good and, of course, the AH gets my vote as it is the only publication that has not given in to the political correct wordspeak.
After a few years of absence Ant Williams will beat Dallas in January. Look for a rebirth/rebuilding/renewal of the AH!!!!! If you don't already, get a subscription to the African Hunter and keep the best journal alive!
I dropped the African Hunting Gazette as it is too commercial: hunt pics are now paid advertisements and letters to the editor are also paying infomercials.
Sports Afield has come far and I will subscribe soon but I dislike the real estate ads.
For some free reading, including dozens of old articles on Africa and double rifles, check out <calpappas.com>
Cheers, mates.

Big Wonderful WyomingTexas Sporting Journal is ok, if I lived in Texas I would read it.
But I don't, so......
You're an ok writer, sometimes I think you think you are funnier than you really are.
I own your Texas hunting book, it is so good I forgot what you called it.
Either way regardless of Gayne's self promotion the magazine is not what I am looking for.

Barry GroulxAfrican Hunter is my favorite because there's stuff on hunts, natural history, history, and good material on guns and loads. Magnum is still going strong; they've been taken over by Media 24 in South Africa but it's still a very good magazine.

IHOff-course, African Hunter, I am reading (subscribed) since last 2 years, every good info with hunts, good informative (specially Carl Papa big bore section) and X-file reports are my favorite.
I will recommend AH.....

umzingeleMan Magnum is the local hunting magazine, not as focussed on the USA market as the rest of the bunch, with mostly local writers (Southern African) and no "advertorial" or thinly disguised advertisements as seen in the other 3

Big Wonderful WyomingMan Magnum reminded me of the magazines in Australia. It was interesting reading and I'll probably get a subscription going again.
I used to get two different German ones, but at over $180 each they weren't worth the print.

Hoot MurrayAt one time or another, I have subscribed to damn near all of the African Hunting Magazines. Like most folks, I miss Hatari Times. I currently subscribe to African Hunter (years now) Sports Afield and African Outfitter. African Outfitter is a high quality magazine with very good articles in it. The name is somewhat misleading, but make no mistake, it is a damn good magazine for hunters.

Alan BunnWe just rolled out a new issue of African Expedition Magazine. It is internet only, and consists of two websites in one.
The link below takes you to a traditional web page where you can click on the articles from our back issues in the normal manner.
The current issue is up as a full screen, page turning 'E-Zine'. You can turn the pages back and forth by clicking on arrows at the margins.
To access the E-Zine, go to the link below, then click on the black block in the upper left hand corner which says, READ NOW.
Once you get the E-Zine up and running, click on the diagonal arrows at the bottom of the page to throw it into full screen mode.
African Expedition Magazine Cheers,
