Ernie's Tusks

Ernie asked me to post them for him... he will add commentary later.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

They look huge. Weight 26 kg? Pretty good.

I've really enjoyed following along on this safari. What a way to end it. Nice Jumbo!

I was fortunate enough to get those with Dudley Rogers who owns Tshabezi Safaris.I'm going on a late season hunt with them for a buffalo. I am pretty sure that they still have a trophy bull on quota.
They sure are wonderful folks to hunt with. They will work their tails off getting you what you want. If any one has time/money to go on a late hunt I think they could accomidate. They are 9 hours ahead.
Their phone # is 011-263-16-318.

Looks like the conversion would be around 64-65 inches long and just over 58 pounds for the bottom one.

Very nice length and weight, and very symmetrical set, too.

Congrats, Ernie!

Ernie - You know I looked hard for that bull's twin. You'll probably go right over to Gokwe and find him!

Nice trophy, hope you leave some of the original colour on them. Some people have them sanded down until they are white, looks fake to me...

How do you intend to display them?

It is a Searcy in .400 Jeffrey. And it shoots like a dream...
