Optima Handling - Jo'Burg Airport
On a thread last week I discussed a problem recently encountered with Optima Handling at the Jo'Burg Airport. This is a "meet and greet" service that simply put guides you through the airport, long lines, luggage woes, and RSA Firearm Permit business. Even though I've been through that airport half a dozen+ times previously, the service that Optima offers for $35 is money very well spent.

Yes, we had a problem three weeks ago, a mistake was made. A wheelchair for a hunting partner got misplaced.

I've since heard from Mr. Johan Coetzer of Optima and we've straightend the issue out. He has made a generous offer: any disabled/paralyzed U.S. Veteran going through Jo'Burg Airport, involved with a Safari Club International or Paralyzed Veterans of America hunting trip, will get VIP "Meet and Greet" services from Optima Handling at no charge.

Mr. Coetzer of Optima Handling is a stand up guy.

That incident seems to have had a very positive FINAL outcome.

I have always maintained, that with ALL the best intentions in the world even the good companies are bound at some time or another to have an adverse situation occur, it is virtually impossible to be 100% spot on all the time.

The main thing is that when an adverse situation or incident has occured that every effort is made to redress the situation and prevent future occurences, we cant really ask for much more I believe.

It is also worth remembering that OFTEN other third party people ( like SAA possibly ) are also involved and that can make 100% performance across the board just that much more difficult at times

Thanks and congratulations to OPTIMA for their acknowledgement & very kind offer

Regards, Peter

Peter,

As you predicted last week, it indeed got worked out. Yes, SAA certainly played a part in this. But a mistake was made and whats done is done. Johan Coetzer of Optima made this generous offer to make things right and I think that speaks well of him. -MN

Matt,
How do I get in touch with Optima. I would like to use for a June'05 safari, with connecting flight (no sleep over) to Namibia. Thanks Wolfgar
