What a lucky find, I have only seen 2 live otherwise most of the time only the dried up shells.

Alf, do you have anymore info on them like how long it takes them to grow this size. And why we dont see a lot of them they are quite interesting animals.

If it was in South Africa, it was undoubtedly a canned snail hunt behind a small enclosure with the snail put there just before it was shot. That's appalling and all hunters who "hunt" snail in South Africa should be shot.

Also did you hunt the snail with the handgun in the photo? Indeed, did you hunt it by shooting it or by that primitive and outdated method of smashing the snail with the handgun butt? Have you checked the wounding rates using a handgun? Using primitve weapons would be inhumane and unethical, too.

And allowing your daughter to be exposed to a dangerous animal must be unethical somewhere.

Lastly if you don't eat what you hunt, your not a hunter, you're just a killer.

You can do what you want. But just don't call it hunting.

Truthfully, you can get one made by some of the reptile reproduction outfits. They need pics and dimensions to make it.
