PAHunterSCI Score to get in Record Book?
Hi Guys:
Does anyone know the minimum points needed to get a Cape Buffalo into the SCI record book.
I think the SCI #3 Buffalo in the world was 136 points. I went looking on their web site but could only find the sale of their three record books for $200.00
I am getting my Buff scored at the next SCI convention in March and was just wondering.
I was suprised how much the horns shrunk since I shot it in August of 2002 went from lil over 46" to 45"...

MabelingwaneAccording to
The ultimate Field Guide This is the information regarding the Cape Buff.
Afrikaans-Buffel: Zulu-Nyathi Tswana-Nari: Shangaan-Nyari: Shona-Nyati R.W. Min 45" Max 64" S.C.I Min 100" Max 139⅛" Measurement Method 1025 February 2004, 13:30
KathiJim,
I checked my S.C.I. Record Book Edition X,the minimum score is 100, the world record is 141, #2 is 137 1/8, # 3 is 136 6/8. According to this edition, they use scoring method #4. Method 4 is tip to tip measurement around the curve of the horn and width of left and right boss. Also, that sounds like a tremendous buff you shot. Where and when?

PAHunterHi Kathi and Mabeling...
Thanks for the info, I thought it was around 100 points. I have the Method #4 Entry Form.
My Buff was shot in August 2002 in Tanzania in the Selous.
I believe you can still read the story and see the pics in this forum. You have to search under my name, look for 46in Dream Buff.
