I must be living right, bought the Bots ele hunt Wendell. After coming within 30 min of spending 2700 for a ticket, checked dancing dancing Delta one last time got a free BC ticket there and exit row Coach back. Only one thing is on the way over I fly Air France. Anyone had any gun/hunter issues with them. I only have 4 hours in Paris so no time to explore.

I traveled Air France for my Benin safari this past January and had no problems with the airline or airport officials in CDG. Be sure and complete the special paperwork for firearms and you should have no issues...

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I flew Air France BC to the far East. You'll be ruined for the trip back.

I flew them back from Namibia in June, no issues what so ever. Just make sure that your travel paperwork states your are travelling with sporting firearms

Air Chance...I fly into West Africa about 2X/year and clients fly in many more. I am happy if 50% of the luggage comes no matter how long the layover. Guns seem to be "left behind" at disproportionate rates. I keep extra gear in-country to allow for this, as it is so frequent. In West Africa (via Paris CDG) we have very few choices, so I suggest you plan on a day at the arrival town if at all possible. Get over jet lag and hope the 50% left behind shows up.

Used Air France in 2006 from Oslo to Johannesburg via Paris and back.
Three friends traveld twice the same route in 2006 and 2008, no problems whatsoever with eighter guns, ammo or luggage.

I´m going again with Air France from Oslo via Paris to Johannesburg in August and I have no hang ups doing so.

The last time I reported I was flying with firearms to Air France, the person I talked to demanded to know the serial numbers. I happeend to have them handy, so rather than start a lengthy argument about her not needing this information, I just gave it to her (swearing through gritted teeth).

I don't know if this problem would also arise when travelling from the US - a part of the World more accustomed to firearms...

Other than that, no problems flying Air France with firearms.

They operated my flight Paris -> Seattle with an Airbus where they had set the seat distance up to fit a midget. Highly cramped!

Air France lost my rifle in 2006 and finally delivered it back 5 WEEKS LATER !!!
The guy that returned it said that Air France and KLM made up three quaters of his baggage return business
CDG airport has one of (if not the) worst reputations in Europe. The design seems to have no logic and the transportation system in between terminals is a nightmare. Give yourself plenty of time in between flights and a very good tip is to approach the chech-in staff at the gate just before you board and give them your baggage numbers. They can check and confirm if they have been loaded. If they start to pretend that they can't do it tell them that in that case you wont board the plane - that will put them in a flap !!
Good luck.

I used them in Jan '07. No gun issues at all. They asked to see my ammo on check in and checked my guns against my 4457 on departing CGD. Everybody was very polite and curteous to us.

Flew RT on Air France last November through England then on to Jo-Berg. Got to love any airline that always has champagne open in the galleys! No firearm problems either. Not a big fan of the iarport however....
