I have one coming into town this week. This is Canada and the suckers are RARE !!! I don't even need one as I use a left handed .416 Sako for bigger stuff. But at about $1,300 Canadian including our hated G.S.T. I thought that I should buy one. I'll probably not use it and sell it to some Canuck who doesn't have a fancy Sako left handed .416... And then regret selling it like I usually do...

Harry, not trying to one-up you or undercut, but Sportsmans Warehouse in Meridian, ID has a left hand Model 70 .375 Safari Express for $939.

Jim,

Looks as if Sportmans Warehouse has the in with The Big Red. I bought a lefty in 375 from there Oregon outlet a month ago. Almost the same cost BTW.

I purchase a LH .375 M70 in sept. for a similar price. I was really pleased to see that it was built in the good ol USA. I believe these rifles are built in the custom shop in New York. I have'nt take the action out of the stock to see how well it is inletted but from the outside it looks very well made. BTW, I waited two years to get one. Evidently Winchester does'nt make LH production runs very often. Lefty's: get em while they're still available.

I also bought one in October and Winchester told me that they made a run of left handers in August of 2004 and the last run before that was April of 2001. Supposedly they shipped guns in September and December of last year and that would be it until they got enough orders to justify another run.

I got mine from a big distributor who recieved only 3 pcs. If I had been faster and allowed to I would have bought all three.
In any business a person has cost plus "x" percent profit. I need $1150 to cover my butt in the cost of this rifle.
I can wait until I am the only game in town if necessary.
There will never be a truckload of them. I only know of one run before this.

Winchester made a run of LH .375s in January, 2002. I bought one of them, after being notified by Winchester. No quality problems.

Harry, my apologies as I did not realize that you were the one selling the rifle, your post sounded like you had just found where one could be purchased. Whenever I "find" a rare left hand rifle, like a Safari Express or left hand M70 stainless I usually announce it on one of the forums.

Again, no intentional offense meant.

Jim...no problems...everyone likes to save a buck when they can.
I have no idea why Win. will not run these more often or in greater quanities when they do. I don't understand why they do not make a run of left hand 416 Rem Mags in the Safari. I could sell them too.
