??? Really?? Wow … didn’t know him personally but by his posts he was a larger than life character. Best to his family.

I just saw similar posts on the Facebook.

He did seem like quite the character who believed big bore started with a .458 and a Bowie knife was just for whittling away at sticks.

RIP.

I talked with Tom's widow a while ago. She said it was a blood clot. As soon as Stephanie let's me know where the remembrance service will be, I'll post here.

Yes sir. Truly sad day. While he may have stated big bores started at .458, in his heart of hearts he personally thought it started at 4 bore. RIP. Prayers to all.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

Truly sad! I purchased many things from Tom and every transaction was seamless. A true gentleman! My last purchase was a Bowie style knife in the exact design and dimensions as the original Jeremiah Johnson knife and scabbard. RIP Tom!

His video posted with that 4 bore (or other mastodon round) was, and still is a classic.

Life goes in the blink of an eye with no certainty.

May God rest his soul and render comfort to his family.

Tom was an honorable gentleman and a pleasure to deal with. I had my first deal on AR with him, several other purchases, sales and trades took place over the years. He will be missed.

Too young. Too soon.

I really enjoyed my friendship with Tom.

Every time he would sign off, he’d tell me to watch my topknot.

And I’d tell him yep, watch your’n.

He was a gentleman, tried and true.

More praise than that we can give to no man.

RIP.

Tom was quite the character. At one time he owned and operated a drive-thru Daquiri and Margarita business in Louisiana! He did quite well; buying the hottest choppers and muscle cars, and building his legendary Mastadon 4-bore double among other crazy exploits. He lived loud...rest his soul.

Oh no !!!
I've known Tom since I started my business; he was my first customer. I built him a 600 Overkill, what else Big Grin. We went on to build more 600's, 700's and 500's (small bores). He graciously allowed me to use the photo of a Cape Buff he shot with one my 600 Overkills propped across the horns for the main photo on the homepage of my website. He was always upbeat and a joy to work with. We still talked on the phone just to catch up and shoot the shit. What a loss.
Rest in peace Tom

I’ve tried to find that video of him in Africa and the mastodon, but can’t. I remember he holds the round up next to a .458/.470 or something similar. I think he also put one of the “little guys” in the breach, just to see the comparison.

Stephanie has planned a remembrance ceremony at Mr Ed's in Harahan, Louisiana on Thursday 17 August at 18:30.
I'm driving from south Texas. I grew up in the part of Louisiana Tom lived and still have a few friends. I had lunch with Tom back in 2016 and hoped to make it back sooner.
