Hi Guys, this question have maybe been asked before.
I`m planning buff hunt, and I wanna add Hippo and Croc, I wanna use my Sako in 375 H&H Mag on this hunt, I Have hunted plainsgame for 10 years and are using soft softpoints on this hunts, such as 260 grs Accubond.
On the Buff hunt I have listed this bullett options:
1, 300 Grs Rhino, 2. 300 grs A-Frame, 3. 300 grs TSX, 4. 300 grs Woodleigh, I allready have my 286 grs solids made by PMP.
Wich of this bullett will you guys use? and why.

bwanamrmWelcome to the AR forums. I have used the 300 grain Swift A-Frames with great success and they are my "go to" bullets for the .375H&H. I have taken 4 buffalo with the combination.

Scott KingIn my .375 H&H the Barnes solids and softs shoot to the same point of aim so I can keep one rifle in my one hand, runmmage around in my pocket for the right cartridge with my other hand and hunt any kind of game I want to. Buffalo? covered. Leopard? gottcha. Duiker? same.
I'm definately not a one kind of bullet or one brand freak but the Barnes really do work well.

Hallgeir GravrokI also builting my a new rifle, it`s a Mauser M98 in caliber 458 win Mag, but I still wanna use my 375 H&H Mag because that I shoot very well with this rifle, and the 375 has enough power to kill a Buff, I also is thinking about the 350 grs bullets.

I'm taking the 300 grain TSX for my 375 next month to Zim for buff. They shoot accurately and perfomed great for plains game.

I asked this question to all the hunters I called as references for my buffalo hunt this year. I probably heard woodleigh the most, then A-Frame, followed closely by TSX. No one, including the PH, had any complaints for any of those bullets. Between those three, seems like they're all excellent choices, so pick whatever one you like.
After hearing all the recommendations, I settled on the 300 grain TSX, for a few reasons. First, I've got duiker on the menu in addition to buffalo, the TSX seems to be the best option for shooting duikers after solids (which I am bring too, 300 gr. DGS). Second, Saeed endorses the TSX bullets in his 375 (and we've all seen how well they work for him). And lastly, I live in CA where we have stupid regulations regarding lead in our bullets. If I have any TSX bullets leftover after my hunt, I can use them to shoot hogs or whatever here in CA since they're "lead free".

Thanks, this is some of the answers I`m looking for. I have used TSX and all of these bullets on Plainsgame and on big game here in Norway, My obeservation is that the TSX is a litle bit slower with the expansion, something that I think will benefit the penetration in a Buffalo.
My hope were that it is some people hwo had used this bullets on buffalo, and could tell us about what they experience.
I load all my ammo myself and the 300 grs i Use 79 grs with the Norma 204 this give me the speed of 2590 feet/sec in my Sako.

bwana dogoHallgeir, I've killed 7 buffalo with Barnes X 300gr bullets. That said, all the bullets you listed will work to the distinct disadvantage of Mr. M'Bogo if you hit him in the right spot. I would choose the one that gives you the best accuracy with suitable velocity. Good hunting!
