I wonder if the big gene has not been poached out? There are bigger specimens in Zambia not to mention South Africa.

Aha. Yeah, most don't look that massive. But I've think I've read in earlier reports that they've measured a few at 61-62 inches.
But IMO Zambian sables are the next best thing, yet black beasts with beautiful, massive curving horns!
