What is everyone's current favorite catridge wallets? Looking for one that fits .375.

My favorite is the wallet made by Murray Leather out of Aledo Texas. A bit expensive but damn tough. Had mine at least 20 years....

I use UNCLE MIKE’S slip on carriers on my belt.

I only use them once and give them to my PH at the end of the hunt.

Work great.

I've used the Galco Safari 5 for my 375 with satisfactory results.

I like having them covered, yes. I've admittedly little DG experience (2 cape buffalo), but can easily flip back the flap and tuck it in behind the belt (stays quite well). That being said, my main belt for my 470NE is a simple open-top cull belt from Boyt Harness with uncovered cartridges.

Leather loops stretch/loosen with use and if you leave the shells in leather loops verdigris will form.

I notice in some video footage hunters having to push the rounds up from the bottom of the loops on their belt or cartridge carrier with a finger while pulling from the top. This seems to make for a slower deliberate release of cartridges for reloading rather than a quick pull and reload particularly where a double is concerned.
In reality an elastic cartridge holder on the stock of the rifle is always going to be the quickest and if everything is going south at least the ammo is always with the rifle in the case of someone else having to use it where the shooter has somehow got out of the action.
May sound overly dramatic but the whole conversation around cartridge carrying for DG in Africa is around having cartridges best to hand for rapid reloading. If that is not the conversation then any holder that takes your fancy will do. I usually just carry spare cartridges in my pants pocket when hunting ordinary game, quick enough to get out to recharge an empty magazine.

Never used wallets as so many are difficult to use with one hand. Rather I use canvas slides my Tommymaker in Kansas. Traditional look, very fair priced, quick turnaround time, and with the bullet visible the cartridge can be both pulled and pushed out for essy extraction. I have a dozen for every diameter I fave from .350 Rigby to 4-bore. They are all I use.

Count me a fan of Murray Leather as well. Have the wallet with flap and the 10 cartridge slide with elastic loops. Good stuff. Have two of their slings and 3 belts as well.

I use stock slip on cover with loops and also,pocket on it

My ammo slides for my 470 are from Mikt Sparks Leatherworks in IDaho. I don’t know if they were ever a catalog item.

Gawie Lindeque at Lindwells Canvas & Leather in Hoedspruit, SA makes really nice stuff. Including ammo slides, culling belts etc.

I have just ordered a double rifle ammo belt and serveral cartridge slides. I know Gawie in person -he is a hard working 100% honest man.

He used to work with Kevin "Doctari" Robertson at the Responsible Resource Use department/Southern African Wildlife College, but he has recently started up the Lindwells Canvas & Leather, besides being the manager at a Co-op gun store in Hoedspruit.

I have one of the elastic Murray slides that I really like -- 10 round -- I wear it in the back with softs on one side and solids on the other. It's great. but I use the 10 round and wear it where I do because -- sacrilege -- My .416 is a magazine rifle and I carry a two pocket grenade pouch with a magazine of solids in one pocket and a magazine of softs in the other. That way I have five rounds in the rifle -- of whatever I think I'll need -- two four round magazines, one softs and one solids, and ten rounds in the slide, mixed as to whatever seems prudent under the circumstances. 23 rounds in all. Never needed anywhere near that and suspect I never will.
