Big Tusker Found Dead in Gonarezhou
I'm posting this for a friend that sent me the photo and some details on the big Tusker.

This big Tusker was found dead in Gonarezhou very recently inside the park. It appears the Tusker has been dead for awhile from the photo. It was reported to the officials and they quickly whisked the tusks away. Weights on the tusks are unknown and maybe never know.

I'll post more info if I get some.

The gentleman in the picture is 6'3" tall. The tusks are fairly thick and carry their size out towards the tips. Notice how little of the tusks would have been inside the lip.

Maybe a 100lber??? I think it is.

A grand old bull none the less!!!

I believe those are well over 100 unless the nerve was HUGE. Beautiful tusks.

Elgin Gates killed one and claimed that it was ???180??? pounds(IIRC). From what I remember they were about that size.

Hunting in Africa is an adventure. The number of variables involved preclude the possibility of a perfect hunt. Some problems will arise. How you decide to handle them will determine how much you enjoy your hunt.

Just tell yourself, "it's all part of the adventure." Remember, if Robert Ruark had gotten upset every time problems with Harry
Selby's flat bed truck delayed the safari, Horn of the Hunter would have read like an indictment of Selby. But Ruark rolled with the punches, poured some gin, and enjoyed the adventure.

Had i been you, i would have quickly purchased an elephant trophy permit and shot the carcass in the brain + an insurance shot and claimed the ivory ! Eeker Cool
