Brandon.GleasonMyOutdoorTV?
Anyone else notice the last few seasons of Tracks Across Africa and Hornady's Dark & Dangerous only have a few episodes available on MOTV?
05 December 2022, 02:37
Michael RobinsonYes, I have noticed this. Nothing is available for the most recent season.

Brandon.GleasonWell, here’s their answer….
“Hello Brandon,
Thank you for your message.
After further research, our content team was able to determine that these episodes have been labeled as “Sensitive Content” and therefore is unavailable on the MyOutdoorTV app.
Because MyOutdoorTV is available internationally, there are specific rules and regulations we must follow, and these specific episodes were flagged under this rule and therefore we are unable to allow these specific episodes to be available.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please let us know if you have any further questions or issues.

Michael RobinsonThanks, Brandon.
"Sensitive content." It's a hunting show!
I would like to know which international jurisdictions prohibit hunting shows?
I would also like to know why they have to make the program unavailable everywhere, and not just in such "sensitive" jurisdictions?
I will let them know immediately that I am canceling my subscription and I will tell them precisely why I am doing so.
Of course, it won't change anything, except that they will no longer get a nickel of my money, and it will make me feel better that I am no longer supporting such nonsense.

Scott PowellI am going to do the same - cancel my subscription and tell them why..
Fucking bullshit - a hunting & fishing channel that wont air hunting shows???

Scott PowellThey are afraid someone will complain about showing an elephant or lion or leopard hunt. That is what they are calling “sensitive content”..
Those two shows are never bloody and rarely show any close ups of kill shots like all the stupid “pigman” shows…
Pathetic woke bullshit!

But they did not offer me an opportunity to tell them why.
I will email their corporate owners tomorrow and sure as hell do that.
My email will include civil, but “sensitive content.”

larryshoresCertain animals are sensitive. Cats and elephants in particular.
I was once asked for pictures of my trophy room for use in a TV show . They were clear to exclude cats and elephants.
Seems like a bad decision to me .

SaeedWe were in the Maldives.
AR was blocked, because of SENSITITIVE material.
I asked them to unblock it.
Apparently they get their services from a South African based ISP??
The ISP had a bit of an attitude, and wanted to drag it.
Told the resort I am I am leaving the next day, and I refuse to pay.
They can sue me if they wished.
And I will post the details on my website.
Half an hour later everything was working!
The resort IT man was not very happy with the ISP, and told me he is going to find someone else to provide their services.

That’s common here. My father has been in and out of hospitals for years. While I’m visiting and he may be sleeping or whatever, I can’t access AR or other gun/hunting related sites.

SaeedIt is amazing how these people behave.
Again, in the Maldives.
I was watching underwater videos I took while diving on my iPad.
Sitting in a bar over the water.
A little girl, 5-6 years, kept walking behind me, and looking at the videos.
He parents were sitting on the table next to me.
I got up to go to the bathroom on the island, had to walk on a wooden bridge to get there.
I went to the parents, and gave them my iPad, saying that their daughter seems to like to watch the videos.
They said thank you and off I went.
When I got back, they were watching hunting videos, and enjoying it.
An English woman came by, saw us watching the hunting videos, and said “you should not show these to children!”
The parents went quiet.
I turned to her and said “who the hell asked for your opinion! Too impressed with your self importance to tell others what to do? Get lost!”
He jaw dropped almost to the ground.
She changed her mind of sitting at the bar, and went off back to the island!
The family were from Austria.
They don’t hunt, but have relatives that do.
I put some of the videos on a USB stick for their daughter, and they were very thankful.
After that, every day she would come and sit on my table to watch new videos I took underwater.

Given what thye said, I have to wonder if this is legally required? If so, I might feel different about it.

Michael RobinsonLarry, based on DCS's post above, it does not seem to be a matter of law.
I am unaware of any foreign jurisdictions that prohibit hunting shows (as opposed to hunting) as a matter of law.
Rather, the channel's owner simply caved to anti-hunters - UK anti-hunters, in particular, who seem to be among the most rabid in the world.
Caving to Anti's It seems that the owner also owns the Arsenal "football" team in the UK, and some of his team's "fans" and UK left-wing politicians were not happy with some or all episodes of MOTV.
They are absolutely wrong on the facts to the point of being stupid, but not happy.
I guess I understand why he dropped the show's episodes, but IMO it was a gutless move.
The guy just caved.

crbutlerSome things are not allowed to be broadcast over the air in some places…
But correct me if I am wrong…
My outdoor tv is a web based streaming service.
Conceivably the countries involved could block specific programming within their nation but then it shows up as unavailable, and you can’t see it in those places.
It’s a pay service for streaming…. You would think if you don’t like it, you don’t access or buy it…
Geez.

lavacaThe woke attitude is obnoxious and illogical. Saw an article about a "wildlife" photo that was up for an award. The photo was of a female leopard that had killed a female baboon and was carrying it. The baby baboon was still clinging to its mother. The back story was that the leopard took the baboons back to feed her cub and the cub "played" with the baby baboon until he killed it. Nothing wrong with that, it's natural, but a hunting video involving humans is "sensitive content" and a hunting video involving leopards apparently is not?
07 December 2022, 08:23
SaeedI saw a documentary, I think by those man and wife crooks team from South Africa.
They claimed they had rescued a leopard because its mother was killed by hunters??
And now they are releasing it into the wilds.
The video shows them taking it out, and then shows an impala standing by water hole.
The camera was panning from the impala and the leopard.
Just before the leopard bounced, the impala was already dead on the ground!!
It was so stupidly done, just like some Hollywood movies showing you loading shotguns or revolvers and firing.
And if you look closely the loaded rounds are all have fired primers!
I get funny looks when I tell those claiming to be "animal lovers" that they are too stupid to have a discussion with!
07 December 2022, 09:12
lavacaI agree, but Alec Baldwin might have wished they had loaded his revolver with rounds that had spent primers in retrospect.

I have read everything I could find on that incident.
Very strange, really.
The way I understand it.
There is an armorer who is responsible for all firearms and ammo used in the shooting of the movie.
No live ammo was supposed to be at the film set.
The armorer, and her friends, brought live ammo to target shoot.
She loaded the gun, and passed it to him.
So by all intentions, it was her fault.
They make an excuse for her as her father is familiar with firearms.
She looked like a bloody bozo to me!

Aspen Hill AdventuresLast evening I was watching one of those 'reality' Alaska based subsistence lifestyle programs. One of the people featured was hunting herds of deer on a beach. They were picking off several deer at a time, reportedly for their community. I noticed each time the camera was focused on the hunter and he 'chambered' a round that the gun was actually empty as he racked the bolt. Plain to see!

SaeedThey are learning from Hollywood.
Look at police programs.
A bunch of them are going into a building with an armed killer.
They only load their guns when they are in the same room as him and ready to shoot!

Boddington, I think, said some PHs do not allow their clients to chamber a round until they are ready to shoot.
Not the ones I hunt with.
As soon as I am off the truck, a round is chambered, and rifle on safety.
I only remove the chambered round while sitting or after shooting an animal or in the truck.
Walking in the bush, rifle has a round ready to fire, only the safety and trigger in the way.
08 December 2022, 08:53
lavacaSaeed,
Like you, I unload before putting the rifle in the gari and load again as soon as I step off, after drinking a liter of water.
08 December 2022, 19:28
customboltFood for thought. Seems like that "sensitive content" label is created to cover up the real reason for the omissions. Money. It's costs money to answer the negative emails and letters and any other correspondence that goes with airing or publishing that type of thing. I do assume that commentary by the anti-hunters far outweigh comments by actual hunters who are short changed in some way. But, I could be wrong. Another angle.
Life itself is a gift. Live it up if you can.
08 December 2022, 20:09
customboltYep,
In Pennsylvania 20 yards off the road is legal hunting. Round goes in only a few steps from the vehicle. Safety (if equiped) stays on is checked often. No loaded guns in the vehicle except when hunting with guide on a private ranch with an empty chamber until about to fire.
I don't know the circumstances of the PH he mentioned.
For first time hunters, an empty gun might be best. People can do stupid things. People forget. People can be idiots. People can make mistakes. Newbies don't always keep their gun pointed away from other hunters. Etc.
I took a lady (newby) out to learn how to shoot starting with an empty semi-auto pistol. She followed instructions on pointing her finger straight ahead and that you never get close to the trigger until it was time to fire even if the safety is on. So far so good. But, everytime she turned off the safety she put her finger on the trigger. She did fine with the bolt rifle and shotgun.
