Hopefully we will see more in the near future:
Chip Burkhalter of Safari Club International calls for hunting critics to learn the facts on what hunting does for wildlife management and conservation, and to respect and honor hunters' legal rights and personal beliefs.
"It was the arrow that broke the world's heart, or at least some in the United States. But to most in Africa, and others throughout the world, the media obsession over the death of Cecil the lion was an outrageous emotional reaction that ignored the role of hunting as a vital source of conservation and revenue practiced widely on the African continent."
"Most rural Africans understand that the same creatures we have anthropomorphized as majestic icons are in fact a daily threat to livelihoods and human lives, yet the collective psyche of America seemed to care to more for a lion than a human. The recent tragic killing of a tour guide by a lion in the very same park that Cecil the lion made famous barely registered a blip on the radar. It is time for us to cease this moral imperialism and have an open and frank discussion about hunting."
