DB BillHelp!! The "Ignore" Option---How To Set It Up?
Unfortunately it's pretty clear that a few members, mostly but not only new ones, have gotten into the habit of high-jacking threads so they can call each other names.
And while I appreciate the fact that Saeed doesn't want to censor anyone, I also want to "tune out" posters whose rantings and accusations don't contribute to anything but the size of their over-blown egos. My question is....how do I go about doing this? And is there a limit to how many I can "ignore" as there is a lot of drivel taking up space.

WyoJoeDB Bill,
When you see their name on a thread on the left side, left click on it. This will open a screen that gives their user profile. In the lower right side of this screen you will see a tab that says "ignore this user". Left click on it. Then close out this screen. Hope this helps. If I can get on a soap box for a minute I wouuld like to say it is tragic that we have to use this feature. People just can't control their impulses.

TXPOBill,
I have only put one person on 'Ignore' so far. It happens to be a rather annoying new member who thinks acting and talking like a backwoods hick is funny. The known trolls don't annoy me as bad as this guy.
Anyway....just click on the offending persons name in a post. This will bring up their profile...at the bottom is a few buttons with one of them titled 'Ignore this user'. Click it and begin enjoying the forums again!

ARTPI use the ingore this poster function and like it. Is there an ingore signature pictures? This may sound silly to many but I am tired of looking at a picture of some .... poniting a rifle at me. This bothers me in as much as I have ALWAYS been told and taught that no one should piont a firearm at anything they did not plan on sooting.

Dago RedI would like a feature that takes a person on your ignore lists and hides your text from then. That would make it more of a hit against them to. When somebody opened a topic that had 23 posts and could only read 4 it might make them rethink their behavior.
I agree that on people I ignore I would rather not see the pictures either.

ELKampMasterAfter running into more 45-70 sewage, I have utilized the "Ignore" feature the second time today (also only the second time in the course of over a year's time). Both have been new arrivals that have washed up on accuratereloading's shores and forgot to bring their manners with them....
Check out the ignore feature, it is wonderful --- very cleansing! You see their names, you smile, you move right on over them --- not even vaguely interested in their yapping --- almost like an open season on rodents!
Good Luck With Your Troll Hunting,
EKM

NitroXUBB Threads software also has a feature allowing certain words to be censored. Wouldn't it be great if the "word" 45/70 was listed as a swear word and instead of seeing [censored] instead we saw the substitution [crap].
eg
Quote:
My [crap] rifle is the bestest buffalo slayer around. Pushing a 400 gr flat point hard cast projectile designed for [crap] rifles at [crap] velocities it will easily drop a charging buffalo.
All you need is a Marlin Guide Gun [crap] for Africa.

Great idea
Saeed
Please, I would like to have the Blaser R-93 or Blaser censored in the same way and see [junk] instead of [censored]

Cheers
