Where would you go.....in December?

Looking at taking a safari over Xmas. Corresponding with Adam Clements, wondering if there are other places, outfitters, ideas, I should be considering?

Taking my son with me.

Any ideas would be welcome - not the season so not sure about my options.

Save yourself some money and look at Zambia. By December we would have had the first rains, the country is verdant and cool. A most beautiful time of year. Dramatic cloud formations and the deep rumble of thunder.

What species are you interested in hunting?

I might have a cunning plan if you are interested in the Kafue?

Masailand can be very good in December if the short rains have come but of course it is pretty expensive. West Africa might be an option if LD eland is on your list but again spendy. Dec is possible in Zambia as Andrew suggested and so is Zim but travel in the safari areas may be difficult do to wet and muddy roads.

Living in Canada I'd go to Hawaii and hunt there. It's a really good and warm time!

I went to masailand in your time frame in 2011. The buffalo were coming out and I got Lion and Leopard as well...with Adam's company.

For a general bag hunt, you can't go wrong there.

Other high end money wise spots would be Cameroon for Lord Derby or maybe Eithiopia if they are open that late (I think so, but may be wrong there)

The other countries it's more due to the conditions. Zambia will be wet, as will Zim. If I recall correctly, they are open then (actually since Mr. Baldry responded Zambia is open for sure...). Of course since it would be at the tag end of their season, if you wanted to do quota clean up, someone might make you an offer too good to refuse...

So Masailand or Cameroon would be my choices, but money will be an issue with them.

Hunting with your son, regardless you will have fun.

Go wherever it is wild and has plenty of game.I have seen many nice animals taken with Adam Clements and with fairgame.

An off the radar choice could be Uganda. Everything from dangerous game to plains game, although pricier than some of the other options.

I am going to Baja Mexico off shore fishing for Sails and Marlin. Nice place to go when it's cold outside here in the New Mexico Mountains. Too far to Africa and the like during Holiday Season.

I'm heading to texas in late December to hunt aoudad and enjoy warm weather.Used to hunt South Point on Big Island until state bought it,great place.hunted Mexico for 16 years,quit too many issues.

I hunted in Masailand a couple years ago in December with Brian Van Blerk who works for Adam.
Had a great hunt,no problems,got all the fine animals we came for. We did leave a couple days early because of the rain though. It was pretty cool to see the place change from dry to a lush green in a week. I have a hunt report posted if you know how to find it.

Yes. 80 series. The VX is the 6 cylinder turbo.

Nope. Did my latest ele hunt in the Valley with CMS in mid December of 2013.

We have our share of terrain. Yes the coil springs are comfortable and I have owned a handful of 80 series but the leaf-spring trucks are still the most popular. Even on the new trucks they have leaves on the back of course. We have much choice in aftermarket springs.

How about the East Cape of South Africa? Perhaps that would be the least hot area of Southern Africa? The heat and humidity would be my main concern for summertime hunting.

I like to go to Caribbean cruises for Christmas, you cannot beat the weather at that time of year.
