PGHow do you put your suitcase on a diet?
I am getting ready to leave for Zim. In the Docs sent to me from Kathi, it says check in can only weigh 50LB's. This is the same case I have taken before and it always weighs 70LB's, the old weight limit.
Does anyone put their ammo in the rifle case? Any suggestions?

Regards, PG

Irish PaulIf you are flying Business or First Class you will get higher weight limits.
Otherwise I believe it will cost you approx US$100 per overweight bag.
Case in point: I flew from SFO to Stuttgart last week. One bag was 56 lbs, and Virgin Atlantic wanted $70 for the additional 6 lbs.
I just pulled 3 books from my suitcase, and transferred them to my carry-on. (Not an option with ammunition though).

T.CarrCheck with your airline, but I paid $25 for a 70 pound bag. Don't go over 70 pounds or the charges get higher. I paid $100 for an extra bag.

GMaxsonIf in doubt, I always just put part of the bag so it is not on the scale

Can't say they have ever noticed, but probably it is more that they do notice and don't care.

Great!! Someone (Walter?) actually put rocks under the scale to limit its travel.
This is the reverse of the grocer holding his thumb on the scale.
