Mother Nature is not always warm & fuzzy is she?
That was gut wrenching to watch.

I was shocked at just how easily the rhino tossed the buffalo around.

I too was amazed at how easily the buff was tossed, and also how tough the buff was to withstand that. The poster of the vid said the buff died two hours later.

I shot my one and only white rhino in 1993 at a distance of about 10 feet in full charge. I can only imagine what it would have been like if that thing had hit me.

Once that Rhino gets the Buff sideways and gets it's horn in, it just keeps banging it up.

Very good video.

I have the impression that the bull thought it was a bit of a game at first, but he didnt realise that the Rhino was playing by different rules.

Interesting. I don't know if it was on here or an email that was going around, but there is a similar video out there of a rhino that gets ahold of a warthog that he sends sailing into the air and it lands in a heap.

Over-and-under trumps side-by-side (doubles).
The poor buff found out there's always someone badder than you.
That's not 'dagga' all over his body -- it used to be breakfast...

I couldn't see any blood on my screen but I'm sure he had some bad internal injuries from that sharp horn. But he wouldn't give it up when he knew he was way over matched. They say rhino won't back down from anything and that is what has gotten "them" killed by young rogue bull elephants.

That rhino has some serious neck muscles!

Speaking of mother nature being cruel ... did anyone else see this video that was on the side playlist of the above video.

Hyenas and lions don't mix!

A previous poster indicated it was a white rhino, which was my judgement. Also, it appears to be a fairly young ong one. Comments from the more experienced among us, please.

I would say it is a mature bull

White rhino, and by the looks of his horn, it is a re-growth after the original was removed. I could be wrong?

And some "grumpy" Black Rhino. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...skf8&feature=related

I doubt that it's a mature bull White Rhino, which would stand taller and weigh double (at least) what a cape buff weighs.

It's bigger, but not that much bigger.

Ask the buff if he cares it's not a Mature Rhino! Doubt it very much.

I think one of those first jabs was the one that got the eye. None of the buffalo were very smart. The one was dumb to keep on tangling with the rhino even after realizing he was way way overmatched. To keep tangling with the rhino was not brave it was stupid. What gets me is how all the other buffalo just stood there. I thought they were smarter than that.

The rhino looks a lot bigger to me. Look at the difference in the girth of the rhino compared to the Cape Buffalo

The buff looked confused as to why he could not lock horns. The rhino was just slipping it in and the buff just could not work it out???

I was on a farm two weeks ago in Alldays were a rhino and a buff had a fight. The rhino came off second best with a massive whole in the side of it. The farm owner was seriously panicked about loosing his rhino. Knowing the cost of them so would I be. They darted the rhino and got the wound all cleared up.

I just watched the rhine tosses warthog video but as soon as the warthog lands they take the camera off.

I watched one, Rhinos save buffalo from Hyena attack.
Not a lot of action but interesting though
