adamhunterTest..and a kudu
This is a test to see if I can remember how to post pics. If it works, its also a pic of a nice kudu my Dad shot....

Cazador humildeExceptional kudu. The picture is like mondo huge. You might try reducing the size a bit at your hosting site before you post.
Man am I glad to see someone post something about African hunting.

PSmithOutstanding. Where taken etc.? Hard to say but that's gotta be in the neighborhood of 60 inches and nice 'tips out'. Congrats to the hunter.

adamhunterThanks all! The kudu was taken in Namibia about 45km southwest of Keetmanshoop. We hunted with Karl Stumpfe of Ndumo Safaris (KarlS here on AR)This was the only animal we pulled a tape on. IIRC it was 57-7/8. Maybe Karl can chime in if thats not the correct measurement. Dad used my 7mm RM w/ 160 Fail Safes.
Been meaning to post a hunt report have been busy and not gotten around to it. Will post it soon.

In case you missed it, +1 for resizing your photo so it won't stretch out the page. 640 pixels wide is pretty good.
Good Hunting,

Andrew McLarenGreat kudu! That is how a 'real' trophy looks: Tips pointing outwards! Congratulations to hunter.
Great photo setup! I like the 'softening' of the hunter's profile by the plants . Makes the hunter fade a bit into the background - where he aught to be! Congratulations Karl!
Is the mark on the nose an entry wound of a 'finishing shot'? Or the actual shot?
In good hunting.

Hi Andrew,
The mark on his nose is where he tumbled. Dad first shot him thru the neck at about 200yds. It knocked him down, but he was up in a flash and running wide open. Dad shot him again on the run at probably 250yds. The kudu hit his nose on the rocks when he tumbled. It was a heck of a shot! Frederick (Safari-Hunt) has it on video. Can't wait to see it.

Karl SAdam, Southern Namibia is not normally associated with kudu, but as I have said before, what I like about hunting them there is the amazement of people at the amount of kudu that you see in such a dry and desolate place.
If you remember, on our one stalk after your hartebeest, we saw at least another kudu in the same class than your father's. With a bit of time, I believe we will scratch out another 60 incher there soon!

Sorry Adam I don't want to blow the wind out of your sails but I only arrived in camp I think the day after your father shot the kudu. So unfortunatley there is no footage of it. Only from your father's gemsbuck onwards.

I couldn't remember for sure if you were there or not when he shot the kudu, but I thought you were. Too much fun jammed in too few days!!
