ledvmIt definitely makes a difference for hunting white-tailed deer.
Big mature WT deer prefer to be nocturnal anyway...given a moonlit night...they take full advantage of it.

Michael RobinsonBased on my experience, I think it depends on the area you are hunting and whether the game animals are feeling any hunting pressure.
But having said that, I know that a full moon can definitely be bad for Cape buffalo hunting.
We have seen Cape buffalo herds that we were chasing hard become entirely nocturnal and bed down virtually all day long during a full moon.
While the moon was full, the buffalo fed all night.
Then, by dawn or shortly afterwards, the entire herd would move into the most secure place they could find, settle down there and chew their cuds until nightfall.
The cycle went on until the moon began to wane.
On the other hand, we have found that in places where there was less hunting pressure on a particular herd or herds, the phase of the moon did not matter.
