South African weather
There are 2 web pages that are particularly handy if you want to monitor the weather in (and around to some extent) South Africa:

A visual satellite image (daytime only):

Good links Johan!

Was there any impact of Cyclone in Feb (Favio) on the Coutada's and resort/beach areas in Moz? I had heard while in Zim that flooding was bad...any impact on the early hunting season this year? Regards, Bill

No, the cyclone didn't break anything serious as far as I know. It was too far to the south of us. The area had good rain though, but that's good. The Zambezi level was way up and the floodplains are drenched as a result of rain in rspecially the upper catchment areas. Early hunting should be OK.

We are driving in next week to clear roads, rebuild bridges, clear the runway and set up camp. In fact, if all goes well, I'll be having dinner in camp just about this time! I'll take many pics and do a nice post when I return. It is always an adventure going in at the start of the season - literally cutting and pushing into the wilderness.
