storing firearms in France
Taking a short vacation in Paris France after our African hunt. Want to be able to store guns with French customs. Has anyone stored with customs or know of any other method.

Use Enough Gun
I kept mine in my room at the Airport Sheraton (CDG Airport) in 2008 while we spent a couple of days touring Paris on our return from Africa. I had previously obtained a gun permit for flying with Air France through Shawn at Gracy Travel, but I am not aware of any other special permits that need to be obtained.

nnsgreg,

I did the same as UEG. I asked about storing the rifle and they said just to take it to my room. No problem at all.

The French customs don't give a damn about a rifle, and even more check an American.
You enter it without any question. It's up to you to store it securely.
What You should consider is that European airlines, according to the European law require that the gun should be in a rigid case (bolt open or removed to be sure no round is in the spout) and ammo apart also in a rigid case. That could be a challenge if you have to take off from Europe. No sweat entering, but you have to abide to the Airlines law here.
I know of no exceptions.
good luck and welcome in France
