Alan BunnKenya: Leopard Kills Livestock in Naivasha
Kenya: Leopard Kills Livestock in NaivashaA stray leopard has killed about 30 sheep and goats in Nyamathi village in Naivasha. The rogue leopard has raided over five homesteads leaving a trail of destruction. Villagers told of their fear as the animal has created an artificial curfew in the area.
Mary Wangui, a resident said, "We heard commotion at around midnight and on checking we found some of the livestock dead and others bleeding." She has called on the Kenya Wildlife Services to compensate her.
Joseph Mwangi, another villager, said they will track down the leopard and kill it if KWS fail to take action."Our biggest fear is that the leopard could end up killing children going to school early in the morning," he said.
