TraxHornady Test: 6.5 Creedmoor 120gmx...In Africa.
http://www.gunsmagazine.com/a-rookie-goes-to-africa/ "On my safari, the ICON Rifle/Hornady Superformance 120-gr. GMX ammo combo helped me with numerous 1-shot stops: zebra, kudu, two gemsbok, two black wildebeest, impala springbok and a mountain reedbuck. Every hunter using the same rifle/ammo combo had the same results. Several hunters took eland, and waterbuck and warthog with similar results. My PH told me he and the other PHs were very impressed with the results from the 120-gr. GMX bullet. "21 December 2011, 08:00
safari-lawyerI suppose you could go over with a .223 and kill most any animal you wanted with good bullets and good shots and proclaim the .223 THE rifle for anything up to cape buffalo.
It helps if you have a magazine in which you can announce the arrival of the _____ as the next greatest thing for African hunting.
Marketing, marketing, marketing.

... just like O'Connor took advantage as shooting editor,to extensively flog the .270win for American hunting.
marketing aside, a .264" 120gn monometal 3000mv - does not seem like an unreasonable option for African plains game.

butchlocsorry but IMHO anyone hunting eland with a 6.5 creedmore, deliberately shouldn't be hunting
