Don't bet on it.
I can almost guarantee you this is going to be the same as the money SCI collected which seems to have disappeared into thin air.

Opus1If it goes to ANY government entity, it will buy a lot of new Mercedes. If it goes to private conservation groups with boots on the ground then it may do some good. If it goes to any of the big NGO's it will be pissed away on brochures, advertising and fundraising efforts.
So I would estimate that DiCaprio's money laundering service has about a 20% chance of saving at least one lion.

I'm not one to blindly defend SCI but they do have a breakdown of money spent on projects in Africa on their website.
- $250,000 on lion projects in Zambia
- $300,611 (estimate up to $423,000) on lion project in Tanzania
- $500,000 on African Wildlife Consultative Forum (I don't agree that funds should go to this forum if they are at all)

Sorry sir you are incorrect. The Government money does buy some new S Class Benz's but the balance goes to Switzerland.
As for the NGO's, that money goes to the Cayman Island for their executives retirement accounts.

Opus1Sadly sir you are most probably correct...

And the discussion was conveniently swept under the carpet.

crbutlerFor DiCaprio that is like me giving $100 once in my life to some cause.
Good for him that he did something, even if it was probably misguided and will end up doing nothing.
Better than most of the Hollywood types.
