LorenzoQuestion about the giant forest hog..
It seems it's an oportunity target but VERY much desired by hunters, my question is, why safari companies don't bait them ?
Being a hog should be rather easy, you find a good spot where they wallow and you put a feeder...
What I am missing ??

A.DahlgrenI dont think baiting is allowed in for ex. C.A.R - i know lions is only allowed to be called in, last i heard anyway.

Rich ElliottBaiting isn't allowed in Ethiopia (except indiginous bait for the cats). There are plenty of natural mineral licks around as well as wallows so it really isn't necessary. Even at that success on Giant Forest Hog is about 50%. This can be improved considerably if one actually hunts for them instead of viewing them as a target of opportunity.

LorenzoRich,
When I posted this topic I was expecting your participation as you may be one of the few here with first hand experience with them.
Thanks
