BigBulletImporting Rifles from South Africa
Friends,
I have the chance to purchase 3 rifles from South Africa. Is this possible? Is there a specific procedure that I must follow in order to do this? I know certain dealers are licensed to import firearms, must I go through these dealers in order to bring them in? Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

cal pappasContact High Bridge Firearms in San Francisco or Griffin and Howe in New Jersey and they will fill you in.
If the gun was made before 1899 you don't need any federal paperwork nor pay customs duty. If 1899 and newer then a Federal form is required as well as a licensed importer.
I've done both.
