<Belarus>Cryo for bullets?
I have heard several cases of cryo-treatment for barrels, machine parts, etc. Could cryo-treatment be beneficial for treating bullets as well? I guess the monometal bullets would be the primary candidates.
I would be more than willing to take time away from work, buy the various bullets and pay for the cryo-treatment if someone would be willing to pay my way to test them on the various critters in Africa.

GeorgeSIf the bullet makers thought that this would improve their bullets, they would be offering cryo'ed bullets.

meteMost of what you've heard about cryo is nonsense, whether it be about bullets , barrels or anything else. For example ,on their website, Benelli has some photos through a microscope of with and without cryo which are pure BS, even though they make good guns.

AtkinsonIf the word gets out, the bullet makers will make a cryo bullet, anything that sells bullets to the poorly educated hunter/consumer is allowed you see...It's no longer called dishonest, instead it's called good business techniques, another word for a gimmick

MinkmanWouldn't this make the bullet harder thus damaging the barrel?
If anyone wants to try, I have a huge tank of liquid nitrogen next to me. Send a couple of bullets and I'll soak them in the Dewers flask.

fredj338I don't think it would work. Barrels are a homogenous mat'l., bullets. except for monmetals, are a composite, they would each react diff. to extreme temps. An interesting thought for monometals though.
