VOLUME BUFFALO HUNT
Since it seems today is safari special day let me once again post the Mahenge add. As to the volume part of the title I would think all avid buffalo hunters would be all over this.

Check this out:

14 days 2x1 $13000 each hunter

4 buffalo and 2 each wildebeest, hartebeest, impala, warthog and zebra allowed for each hunter.

How much fun could 2 friends have with 8 buffalo and 20 plains game animals between them?

Even with the liberal bag this is not a shoot 'em up offer as we will only be hunting one party at a time from the camp and we will only have one camp in 1000 sq. mi. concession. This will be a quality experience.

Of course we can do this hunt on a 7 or 10 day basis starting at $6000 per hunter.

For folks who did not see the earlier offer the prices include everyhting with the exception of trophy fees, tips and hotels in Dar if necessary. No extras!

There are still dates left for '06 and some prime dates for '07.

For more info contact me anytime.

Mark -- he was pointing out that your post says $1300, not $13,000. For that I could probably manage to get away this year! Eeker

That is $13000 + trophy fees, correct?

Yes! So you hunt 14 days and kill 4 buffalo your total bill would be $13000 plus $5400 for the 4 buff or $18400 plus tips and hotel if necessary based on a 2x1 booking. No other costs!!!

Mark,

I am not sure if you are aware, but, last year we did not see a single impala on that concession.

Wildebeest were also scarce, and we were not able to locate a single shootable bull.

Buffalo, on the other hand, were plenty, and better quality than the Selous.

Saeed,

I do remember you saying wildebeest were scarce and that poaching was an obvious problem. It would seem to me that with full time anti-poaching plus the agreements that we have made with the locals that things should improve dramatically.

This takes more than 6 months to make an impact IMO

$13,000. sounds like a real deal.$18,400. merely sounds like the average price for two seven day hunts booked back to back, not exactly a "special deal".

If I am wrong , I trust someone will point this out and I promise I will try not to be offended.

"Special" is somewhat relative....but the $9200 per 7-day hunt INCLUDES two buffalo trophy fees, dip/pack, transportation to/from concession and gun permit. I do not recall seeing a legit hunt with a quality outfitter near this price for a long while, including being allowed 2 buffalo on a 7 day hunt. In Tanz or elsewhere these days.

Heck, I paid about this back in 2001 for a quality 2x1 2-buffalo hunt in the Selous, and prices have gone up a LOT since then. Looking back, it cost $6700 for 7-days and one buffalo (which was a very good deal back then) + $150 dip pack + $1200 charter to the Selous (split) + $200 firearms + $790 for the second buffalo (TF's were really cheap in Tanz back then). And to get the 2nd buffalo, I had to upgrade to 10-days at + $2100.

Of course the various areas have their pros/cons, and I thought the Selous was great and would be well worth the $10,500+ 2x1 all-in prices as they seem to be going for. But at this point, if looking for a fun buffalo hunt (or two), I think this offer is a very good deal. JMO...

Mitch,

K1 and K2 which adjoin this area have an an amazing amount of plains game (at least they did when I was there in 2001). If poaching is minimal and there is water I would think things should look up pretty quickly??
