Anything change or what? Has anyone managed to get an export permit recently?

Nothing that I have heard, and I wouldn't expect any change as long as the present administration is in power over there. We were there in April and nothing was asked of us regarding any permits coming or going by the Canadian government. When we got home we were asked for proof of ownership and that was all, they never even looked in our cases.

Its another useless law based on ignorance that accomplishes nothing except to make politicians feel good about themselves by appearing to be doing something that in reality they have no control over.

For the life of me I cant figure out what they are trying to accomplish by not letting sport hunters take their own sporting arms to hunt with. They haven't been able to explain the reasoning of it to me so far. What is the Canadian government afraid of, that we are going to take our .470's, and .375's over there for there military, give me a break. If they don't want to send our dollars over their make an outright travel ban.

Thanks d.unger! I have a hunt booked there in less than a year. I would really like to use my rifle and handloads.

George - You might have to book through South Africa and go thru the SAPS routine and have seperate airline tickets for your trip from South Africa to Zimbabwe.
