patrkyhntrI am having capes, backskins, and skulls with horns done from zebra, sable, waterbuck, nyala, and red hartebeest. Cost was $700 total. Shipping comes next.
Here's the prices we paid last year in Limpopo RSA.
Dip and Disinfect:
Impala, horns, skulls and cape.....$70.00
Blesbok, horns, skulls, and flatskin....$90.00
Steenbuck, horns, skull and cape.......$70.00
They actually seem quite high, but every shop is different and profits from one item to make another more competitive. My prices from last year's trip to Namibia were very reasonable and are listed below:
Skulls/Horns Dip & disinfect $35
Capes Disinfecting $15
Hides/Rear Skins Disinfecting $15
Tanning on rear skins was $35 to $70 each.
The completed zebra rug w/ felt was $400.

MARK H. YOUNGGarry Kelly charges $40 per animal and does his own pack and dip on sight. No screw ups and a fair price.

LHowellIf these are from RSA they seem quite high.
In the Eastern Cape I have paid $60-$65 per animal on 2 separate trips/outfitters.
Of course if you are having the taxidermy done over there you should not have to pay them at all!
