Mokore Safaris recently announced their acquisition of the hunting rights of the Sengwa Research area.
Mr. Barrie and Gary have reported seeing plenty of game including buffalo and hearing lions near the camp.
I hunted with the Duckworth's in Mozambique and on the Save (in 2010). They run an extremely good operation and are just good people. I am sure this will be another well run concession.

Thanks for the update...did you hear how Mokore did in Coutada 9 and in Save this year?

MARK H. YOUNGI'm very happy for Mokore in acquiring Sengwa. They deserve it after a tough '12 with all the mess on the SAVE.

MJinesHHK had Sengwa Research. I have been hearing reports that they are imploding. Is this further evidence of that rumor?

makiI traded holiday greetings via e-mail with the folks at Mokore just before Christmas. The Save has been a PITA for them, but they were confident that they'd soon get their Zim operation sorted out. I guess Sengwa is what was being hinted at. I'm very happy for them. I've got a lot of time for Mokore in general and the Duckworths in particular.
On a related note, I noticed in Mokore's year end news letter that Barrie convinced Magocha to join him and an old buddy for some tuna fishing. What stories would have been shared around the camfire on that trip?!
Cheers,
Dean

Buzz CharltonCongrats to the Ducks! It is a beautiful area and I am sure that they are happy to have a plan since the Save is still such a mess with out much sign of there been a resolution soon!

No details but the word is "excellent" on Coutada Nine. From personal experience it is a great area and will only get better.
They were able to conduct most hunts on Mokore, again no details but Mokore will be at both shows.

Thierry conducted a hunt on their area in Moz and was impressed with the game.

The only thing lacking as far as C9 is the buffalo. If they could just source some buff from somewhere that would be a big plus. My understanding is that finding "disease fee" buff is the issue. Gorongosa NP had the same issue with regards to buff relo's in 2012 and consequently did no relo's after doing some each year since 05'.

bronxfatsI hunted with the fine Duckworth team in Coutada 9 in Moza, last November and had a great time. The Kudu are incredible, the Eland plentiful(at that time),the Warthog are world class ,and earlier in the season bushbuck and Nyla(I missed a fine one at 60 yards) abound. Heck ,I even shot a Suni. Reedbuck are IMPRESSIVE and if you want a Lichtenstein's Hartebeeste or a ghost stripe free zebra or perhaps a big Bushpig it might be a considered destination. I had opportunity on Sable but none I saw were above 37". Lots of Common Duiker and big Oribi.I saw 1 big black maned lion and could have hunted non -exportable bull ele(35-45 lbs.)Saw no buff.Neil and Shayle were fine hosts and have done much anti-poaching work. Hilton and Doug PH'ed with my friends and had similar success.i'd go back in a minute. My next hunt will be for Leopard and Sable.......have to warm up after Ibex and MP in Kyrgyzstan. I will have to research Sengwa.
